About TajikSite#
TajikSite is an independent guide to Tajikistan, written and maintained by Asmatullah Kohistani. It covers the country's history, geography, economy, people, culture, languages, health system and mountain lakes, in nine articles intended to be read in order or dipped into as needed.
The aim is a straight reference for anyone who wants to understand the country: where it sits, who lives there, how it is governed, and what shaped it. If you are planning a trip, studying the region, or simply curious about a country that rarely makes the news, the material here is written to be useful rather than promotional.
Tajikistan is often described only through its mountains, and there is good reason for that, since over 90% of it is mountainous. But the more interesting story is what that geography has done to everything else: to where people settled, which languages survived, how the economy developed, and why so much of the working-age population now earns its living abroad. The articles try to keep that connection in view.
The site is deliberately small and plain. There are no advertisements, no tracking, and no newsletter to sign up for.
